Santa Fe is one of the most scenic islands in the Galapagos. Most visitors land in Barrington Bay where sea lions snooze on pristine beaches, and graceful sea turtles swim among the coral reefs in the island’s phosphorescent green waters.
Santa Fe is home to some of the most spectacular land animals of the Galapagos, including the native Santa Fe Land Iguana, found nowhere else in the world. One of the most famous Galapagos Islands plants, the Giant Opuntia, also is found here. The Giant Opuntia is a gigantic version of the prickly pear cactus and another example of the amazing adaptability of Galapagos Islands plants and animals.
